This specialist degree offers the rigorous training and applied insights needed to work in today’s financial markets.
Core modules will develop your understanding of the wider financial industry. Pathway modules will teach you how to apply this core financial knowledge to address key issues within your specialist sector.
This integrated structure will help you understand the different financial sectors and train you to evaluate strategic options within an applied setting.
The Financial Trading pathway focuses on the theory and practice of fixed income markets, instruments and derivatives. Using trading platforms, you’ll gain a practical insight into the art and science of trading. This experience will teach you to effectively manage risk transfers while also considering the potential frictions involved.
You will also participate in a virtual trading exercise in collaboration with a leading trading company that can last up to two months.
Classes are designed to simulate a real-life experience of the financial industry. You’ll benefit from hands-on training, including access to the University’s Thomson Reuters Eiken Terminals, Bloomberg L.P Terminals, Datastream including Worldscope databases and a dedicated trading room.
This degree will prepare you to work in capital markets, dealing with FX, equity, fixed income and derivatives products at both organised exchanges and OTC markets.

Undergraduate degree with a minimum 2:2 classification in a quantitative or scientific subject or international equivalent
English Language Requirements
IELTS: Overall score of 6.5, with 5.5 or above in all 4 component parts, or equivalent
