This specialist degree offers the rigorous training and applied insights needed to work in today’s financial markets.
Core modules will develop your understanding of the wider financial industry. Pathway modules will teach you how to apply this core financial knowledge to address key issues within your specialist sector.
This integrated structure will help you understand the different financial sectors and train you to evaluate strategic options within an applied setting.
The Energy Trade pathway will give you a true insight into the art and science of trading. You’ll experience real-time trading through simulation challenges developed in collaboration with Amplify Trading. This hands-on training will help you develop strategies that effectively respond to this fluctuating and uncertain market.
As part of this pathway, you will have access to free student membership to the Energy Institute, which is the royal chartered professional body of the industry. This membership gives you access to monthly seminars and level panel discussions.
Classes are designed to simulate a real-life experience of the financial industry. You’ll benefit from hands-on training, including access to the University’s Thomson Reuters Eiken Terminals, Bloomberg L.P Terminals, Datastream including Worldscope databases and a dedicated trading room.
This degree will prepare you for a career in trading within the energy market or as part of back office operations on both the supply and demand side.

Undergraduate degree with a minimum 2:2 classification in a quantitative or scientific subject or international equivalent
English Language Requirements
IELTS: Overall score of 6.5, with 5.5 or above in all 4 component parts, or equivalent
